Does the internet run our lives?

Ok so, today Made It has gone down due to a power outage. All day long it has been down, all day long I have been checking the computer to see if it has come back on. I have read my daily blogs already and all the other usuals on the net. The thing is, I have had no idea what to do with my day. I have been a little lost... Sure, I have done the usual house work, played with my kids etc but there are certain times of the day that I grab a cuppa and sit down to browse made it or check my sales and today I couldn't and it drove me mad.

 My two children still have afternoon naps for about two hours and this is generally the time of day I plonk myself on my computer and don't get of untill I here the first one wake. But today when they went down for some zzzzz's I had no idea what to do with myself, I could have done a zillion things, done some work, picked up some more crap off the floor, washed, ironed anything but I just sat on my ass waiting for madeit to come back on... Looser much? No life much? I think so.

 So I have come to the conclusion that I am addicted to the internet, terrible I know. I think I'd have a heart attack if I actually had no computer. Are we all like this or is it just me?  I am now making myself some new computer time rules.... One hour a day. Lets see how I go. I bet I last an hour!

New Shop!

Goodmorning all.... I would like to introduce you to my new shop LuLu's Boutique 
It stocks accessories and decor for little and big ladies.. I have dabbled in this sort of thing befor just as a hobby to do with my daughter but seeing as times are rather quiet over at LuLu's Lamps I thought I would set up a second shope to see how it goes! I have made a few sales already which is super exciting and I am having so much fun sewing and creating! I will still be doing my lamps and concentrate mostly on them but do my boutique on the side... Really enjoying my crafting again and can't wait to see where it takes me.  Have a great day everyone!

Quiet Times

Hello hello,

Finally I got my inspiration back over the weekend after a visit to my favourite fabric shop... I got busy making some new lamps and shades over the weekend. Hopefully this helps with sales as they have been super duper slow.. I made one sale last week but my customer hasn't payed and I'm pretty sure they don't intend on doing so in the near future. This really bums me out, it happened around three weeks ago too. I make a sale and then the customer asks to pay via direct deposit and never pays... Does this happen to everyone or just me? Would love to hear your thoughts on this topic. Any how, I'm off as packed to the rafters is about to start... Woo Hoo I have so been hanging for this show to come back on! Night all. Kristen

My inspiration is running from me now

I'm back,

Today, seeing as it was so cold and horrible out side I decided to get to work and clean my work/craft room out. It usually always gets me motivated when I get it all tidied up and looking lovely and neat. Not this time :(  I've just about run out of ideas. So tonight I have to decided to embrace the quiet and lack of motivation and take a rest. How often do mums actually take time out to rest and do something for them selves? I know I rarely do, life is to busy with children and cleaning and work and paper and bills and some more paper work not to mention its tax time at the moment and I have just finished maually typing 100's of reciepts and other crap into MYOB ready to take to the tax man. Did I mention I hate tax time? And I think its about time I had a rest, So Tomorrow I am going to do bare minimun house work and just spend the day relaxing and enjoying my kids company.. And when they have their afternoon sleep I am going to nap too. Hopefully a little rest will help me feel nice and shiny and new again and ready to face the lamping world once more! Fingers crossed...

P.S Thankyou to all who commented it is so lovely to know that there are people out there going through the same crap as me, and even better to know I am not talking to my self.......... Night

My inspiration has walked out the door...........

Hi all,
I am having one of those times where I just have zero inspiration to create new lamps. Sales have been far and few between and I do think that this is part of the reason. Was I just being spoilt before? Last month I was making so many sales and was getting so so busy, it was hard to keep up with but it was good. Now, Nothing. As well as lack of sales times are hard at home. My partner has been getting very little work and times are getting tough, it is so stressfull. I realise that its hard for so many other families out there as well. I just don't know how people do it. Everything costs so much more and we are making less less and lesser money! Well enough rambling and whinging, hopefully things pick up soon and get back to normal. Does anyone else ever feel this way and loose inspiration? Would love to hear your thoughts.... Kristen

New Lamps.......

I think I am officially the worst blogger ever I have been so slack with my blog. but I have been very very bust with my lamps... Firstly I wanted to show you a pic of the lamp that the winner of the giveaway designed.. Natalie was so lovely to work with and chose this gorgeous fabric for her lamp that I just adore.... So a big congrats to her.. I have been very busy lately getting stock ready for a new shop/gallery opening in Bendigo that I will; be selling my lamps in. It is called veiw point gallery and will feature a gallery and retail space all in one! Very excited to be a part of the action.....
